Joel Mendes is the co-head of JLL’s national seniors housing debt practice. Joel focuses on debt and equity advisory for seniors housing owners, operators, and developers nationally. Joel has originated, structured, or underwritten more than 100 commercial real estate transactions and has focused on the seniors housing and care industry since 2007. Joel is an active speaker on seniors housing and finance topics, the Co-Chair of NIC’s Spring Conference Planning Committee, and a member of Argentum’s Workforce Development and LEAD Program Steering committees. Prior to joining JLL via its acquisition of Oak Grove Capital in 2015, Joel worked in the seniors housing groups of Oak Grove and Red Capital. Joel began his career by completing formal credit training at LaSalle Bank and then working in LaSalle’s commercial real estate lending division. Joel has a B.S. degree in economics from Duke University.
