Dr. Scott Gottlieb is a physician, investor and author who served as the 23rd Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 2017-2019 under President Donald J. Trump. Previously he served as the FDA’s Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs and, prior to that, as a Senior Advisor to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Dr. Gottlieb is currently a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research and a partner at the venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates. He serves on the boards of Pfizer,Inc., Illumina, Inc., and TempusAI, and is also a regular contributor to CNBC and CBS News’ Face the Nation.
Bringing an alternate point of view is Andy Slavitt, former Senior Advisor to the Biden administration on COVID response and former Acting Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services under President Obama. He is a founder and general partner of Town Hall Ventures, which invests in companies that transform access and equitable care for underserved Americans. Mr. Slavitt also serves on the boards of Bright Health and Cityblock Health.
