Joel Mendes is the co-head of JLL’s national seniors housing debt practice. Joel focuses on debt, equity, and investment sales advisory services for seniors housing owners, operators, and developers nationally.

Joel has closed more than 150 commercial real estate transactions and has focused on the seniors housing and care industry since 2007.  Joel is a frequent speaker and panel moderator as well as the Co-Chair of the 2023 Spring NIC Conference Planning Committee.  Prior to joining JLL in 2015 via its acquisition of Oak Grove Capital, Joel worked in the seniors housing groups of Oak Grove and Red Capital.  Joel began his career by completing formal credit training at LaSalle Bank and then working in LaSalle’s commercial real estate lending division.

Joel graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Certificate in markets and management.
