René Lerer, M.D., Chief Executive Officer, Longevity Health Plan, has more than 30 years of experience in executive management with leading, national health care organizations. Longevity is a clinical services company and national Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan dedicated to serving individuals in senior living settings.

Most recently, he was president of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation, a $16 billion, not-for-profit health solutions company, the parent company of Florida Blue. Prior to joining the GuideWell organization, Dr. Lerer has served as executive chairman and chief executive officer of Magellan Health Services, now Magellan Health, a $5 billion, Nasdaq-listed specialty health care management company.

Dr. Lerer serves on the board of Newport Healthcare, Gryphon Investors as a senior advisor, and on the board of HIAS as a founding board member. Dr. Lerer holds a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from Oberlin College and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
