Thilo D. Best is a nationally recognized leader in the senior housing industry with more than 35 years of experience building, transforming, and growing companies and real estate platforms. He is Co-Founder and Principal of Bayshore Retirement Partners, which develops and owns senior housing communities across the southeastern United States. He also recently served as a Senior Advisor on the senior housing sector to Town Lane.

Thilo began his career in real estate finance at Prudential, where he founded the senior housing lending group and helped launch the firm’s entry into the sector. He went on to found, lead, or transform several major organizations, including Longview Senior Housing, a Blackstone portfolio company where he served as Founder and CEO; and Horizon Bay Retirement Living, which he co-founded with Goldman Sachs. He also held senior executive roles with Holiday Retirement Corporation and Brookdale Senior Living.

He has partnered with leading global investment firms such as Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, and KKR, and served on the boards of NIC, ASHA, and Argentum. As Chairman of NIC, he helped launch NIC MAP, a pivotal advancement for the industry.

Thilo holds degrees from the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, and Thunderbird School of Global Management.
