Hal Cranmer

Hal Cranmer graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Japanese minor. He attended Air Force pilot training in Phoenix AZ and flew multiple planes including diplomatic airlift in Asia and Special Operations C-130’s out of Florida.

After the Air Force, Hal joined US Airways flying as a first officer on various Boeing and Airbus aircraft. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 ended Hal’s airline career as almost half the airline pilots in America were furloughed.

Hal found a job in manufacturing and performed various roles for about the next 15 years including financial auditor and supply chain director. He worked his way up to plant manager of a large aerospace machining plant.

During his time in manufacturing in Minnesota, Hal bought and rehabbed several single family and small multifamily homes in his spare time. Some of the homes he flipped and sold. Others he kept as rental properties. Another investor told him about assisted living.

About 12 years ago Hal took a class in running assisted living homes and was hooked. He bought his first assisted living home in 2015. Then he purchased four more homes a year later.

Hal was not happy with how the assisted living homes were running. So he started researching how to improve the health of his residents. At first he tried switching everyone over to a vegan diet. That was a bad decision. The residents were not showing any significant improvement and many residents wanted to move out if the home did not switch back to regular food.

After more research, Hal found that the right diet, exercise, and other therapies can really improve the health of his residents. So he hired a health coach (Cari Kamp), some personal trainers, and a consulting company to help him with other therapies.

Hal has had some great success with the holistic approach to assisted living. He has helped people lose a lot of weight (over 200lbs in some cases), reverse chronic diseases like diabetes, and even seen improvements in cognition. During the time he has owned these facilities, he has made 9 people healthy enough that they could move back home.
